About

Caleb Mitchell

Electrical Engineering student at UC Santa Cruz.

I'm Caleb Mitchell, an Electrical Engineering student at UC Santa Cruz pursuing a B.S., with an expected graduation date of June 2028.

I enjoy turning ideas into working systems. My projects combine hardware and software through custom PCBs, embedded firmware, motor control, robotics, sensing, and real-time computer vision. I'm most interested in embedded systems, PCB design, controls, communications, and power electronics.

The part of engineering I like best is building something, testing it, learning from what fails, and improving it. I want designs that are understandable, measurable, and grounded in real-world results, not just simulations or theory.

Through the UCSC Rocketry Club, I've contributed to thrust-vector-control avionics, including schematic and PCB design in KiCad, Teensy-based firmware, sensor and telemetry integration, and hardware bring-up. Outside the club, I keep developing independent projects in robotics, motor control, computer vision, and embedded electronics.

I also care about using my time and skills well for the people and communities around me. That can look like volunteering at Goodwill, helping a teammate solve a problem, or designing technology with a real application. I want the work I do to leave things better than I found them.

I'm always looking for opportunities to learn, collaborate, and take on engineering challenges that make a positive difference.
